Ninpo Goshinjutsu Mu Te Jinen Ryu
is a complete martial art training that was developed in
1977 by Soke Bo Munthe 10 Dan.
Soke Bo Munthe
Bo Munthe, born in 1943.
In
1958 Bo Munthe Soke began training and studying Jiu Jitsu from all the books
he could
find. In 1965 Bo Munthe stepped into a dojo for the first time, to study judo ”in
a proper manner”. He continued studying judo for 15 years. During that time
Bo Munthe also tried other martial arts, such as jujutsu and kempo. November 3rd
1973 he was awarded 1st dan in judo. His students at the time gave
him a book, Ninja The Invisible
Assassin by Andy Adams. This book later proved to be the inspiration
behind the growth of ninjutsu in the United States. This was the beginning of what
we today call Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.
First
of all Bo Munthe introduced ninjutsu in Sweden. Then in England, Ireland, Scotland
and Wales in 1983, Holland, Norway and Finland in 1984, Spain and Greece in
1986 and 1987 in Germany. In 1986 Bo Munthe held a ninjutsu work shop at Emil Farkas’
place in Hollywood for a number of people in the movie business.
Below
is small list of Bo Munthe Soke's grades; a full and detailed list
of Bo Munthe's grades (50+) can be found in the official
Student Handbook and might be of interest
to Ninpo
Goshinjutsu dojo leaders.

Japanese influences

In
1975 Tetsuji Ishizuka, Shihan, visited Sweden for the first time. He came
back in 1977. As my personal guest, Ishizuka sensei then demonstrated the,
at the time rather unknown, martial art ninjutsu.
For me, these two
occations gave budo training new dimensions. Ishizuka sensei’s
contribution to spreading ninjutsu is massive. He has written of kihon happo,
the eight basic principles in ninpo-taijutsu and of
how to relate to our new students.
Below
is a short excerpt from Sven-Erik Bogsäter’s
book about ninjutsu. Ishizuka’s words discuss how to act in a positive
way:
KIHON
HAPPO, a path to understanding your training
"When a child is
born and takes its first steps, it often falls over backwards. Probably
because the weight of the child’s relatively large head is ill balanced in
comparison to the rest of the body and the child’s muscles. BUDO works in
the same way! A good parent always gives his child a helping hand. In the
same way, senior students must take their responsibility and help junior
students (kohai-senpai- relationship). This takes a measure of maturity.
Love is constructive and creates new things and new life. Love is
important!"
A legend in his own
lifetime
The
sensei who has been directly fundamental to my spreading of ninjutsu and my
developnent of Goshinjutsu, is a man who has become a legend in his own
lifetime, Soke, Sensei, Doctor, PhD etc, Masaaki Hatsumi.
He
is the bearer of a nine hundred years old martial tradition and the
accumulated martial experience of 202 persons. The ninjas are reputed to be
the first warriors to use techniques from the two thousand years old ”Spy
Bible”, Sun Tzu.
